For over a decade, I worked as an athletic trainer in a variety of high-performance and fast-paced settings – from NCAA football and track and field to embedded care for USAF fighter aircrew and injury prevention for aircraft maintenance technicians. Everything shifted after becoming a mom of two boys under 3. After receiving the daycare cost estimate my husband and I had a moment of clarity: working full-time only to hand over the paycheck for childcare did not make sense. I chose to step away from my career as an athletic trainer and transition into being a stay-at-home-mom – a decision that has been challenging but incredibly rewarding.

One afternoon, while browsing a closing sale at Joann’s, I spotted a candle making kit. What began as a fun little project quickly turned into something much more. I immersed myself in the craft – researching the history of candles, the chemistry of wicks and waxes, and the art of fragrance blending. The further into the rabbit hole I traveled, the more fascinated I became. Thus, Lucid Creations Candles and Waxes was born.

Our signature scents are more than just fragrances – they are escapes. Developed in the middle of toddler meltdowns and chaotic days, each one is designed to transport you to your “happy place”. I imagine the sights, sensations, feelings, and most importantly – the intoxicating scents conjuring calm, joy, or nostalgia – and blend into something you can feel inside your home.
